Icelandair Saga Club members can use their Saga Points with Icelandair and partners around the world.
We strive to make using Points as simple as possible, which is why you can use any amount of Points when booking an Icelandair flight to all scheduled Icelandair destinations, as well as for a hotel stay and a car rental.
Use Saga Points
Saga Club members can use their Saga Points to pay for any scheduled Icelandair flight, solely or as a partial payment. A great fact is that members also earn Points while using them. Turn your Saga Points into an adventure today.
Saga Points as payment for flights:
- Use Saga Points as a paying method
- Use the amount of Points you wish
- Pay for a part of the airfare or for the whole fare
- Pay taxes and fees with Points
- Earn Points while using Points
- Choose any flight, any seat, any time
A great way to use your Saga Points is to spend them on board your flight. All refreshments on the Saga Kitchen menu can be purchased with Points.
Make sure to have your Saga Card with you on your next flight with Icelandair. If you do not have a Saga Card, you can apply for a new one on your Saga Club account.
To use your Saga Points on board:
- Inform the cabin crew that you wish to use your Points for the purchase.
- Present your Saga Card and Credit/Debit Card to the cabin crew.
- If you do not have enough Points for the whole transaction, your credit card will be charged for the full amount.
Keep in mind that it's not possible to get a refund or change the payment method after the flight.

Don't know what to do with your points? You can buy a gift certificate to use as payment for your flight, for an Icelandair package or to make someone special happy.
Saga Club members can use their Saga Points to purchase a gift certificate. When purchasing a gift certificate with Saga Points, members can choose from the following amounts:
- Use 10,000 Saga Points to purchase a gift certificate worth 48 USD.
- Use 20,000 Saga Points to purchase a gift certificate worth 97 USD.
- Use 30,000 Saga Points to purchase a gift certificate worth 145 USD.
- Use 40,000 Saga Points to purchase a gift certificate worth 194 USD.
To purchase a gift certificate, simply log into your Saga Club account and click Buy a Gift Certificate.
When flying with Icelandair, Icelandair Saga Club members have the option of using their Saga Points to upgrade their seat and service from Economy Flex fare to Saga Premium. Upgrades for Saga Points are subject to availability and are arranged if possible. Please note that original fare conditions, including Saga Points earning remain unchanged.

Please be aware of the following:
- Only Icelandair tickets starting with the number 108, are eligible for an upgrade with Saga Points.
- Upgrades cannot be arranged at check-in.
- Upgrades cannot be converted back to Points.
- There is no child discount for a class upgrade.
- A booking fee of ISK 3,600 is charged per passenger.

More space can make a big difference, and that's why More Legroom seats are available for purchase onboard for Saga Points.
Just make sure that you have enough Points on your Saga Club account.

Using Saga Points is easy
- Inform the Cabin Crew that you wish to use Saga Points.
- Hand your Saga Card and your payment card (in case points status is not sufficient) to Cabin Crew.
Please keep in mind that members do not earn Saga Points when paying for More Legroom seats with Points and seats cannot be purchased for Points prior to travel.
The Icelandair Travel Fund for Special Children is a combined effort by Icelandair and its passengers to help chronically ill and disadvantaged children experience their dream journeys.
The main objective of the Icelandair Special Children Travel fund is to help children suffering from a long-term illness to see something of the world. We estimate each year the Icelandair Travel Fund will enable 200 people every year, from all over the world, to go on their "dream journey". Said Sigurdur Helgason, former President and CEO of Icelandair: "Whether it is Disney World Florida or the Tivoli in Copenhagen, these trips give families memories that are cherished."

Donate
To donate your Saga Points you must log into your Saga Club account and there you can choose the option to Donate to Special Childrens Travel fund and choose how many Points you would like to donate.
Saga Club members can use their Saga Points to book a hotel all over the world through Icelandair hotel search empowered by Voyage.
Book with Saga Points and earn as you go:
- Log into your Saga Club account and click the button Book hotel
- Search a hotel all over the world
- Choose a room and fill in the information
- On the payment site, you can sign up with your Saga Club credentials and choose the Saga Points amount that you would like to use for your booking
- Earn Saga Points for the part that you pay with your Credit Card, that is if you do not pay for the whole booking with Saga Points.

Enjoy your Saga Points on Alaska Airlines
Saga Club members can book an Award flight on Alaska Airlines using their Saga Points. Alaska Mileage Plan members can as well use their miles for an Award flight on Icelandair. They book such an Award flight on Alaska Airlines web page or via their member service.
To book an Award flight on Alaska Airlines, Saga Club members call the Icelandair customer service 1-800-223-5500 prompt 1.

- The Flight route is based on segments. For example, if a member flies ORD-PDX-OGG on economy class, there will be a separate calculation made for ORD-PDX which costs 30.000 Saga Points, and for PDX-OGG which costs 60.000 Saga Points or a total cost of 90.000 Saga Points. The number of Points is based on return flights

- No discount for children
- Book one way or a return ticket
- Book on either Main Class or First Class.
- No change fee for First Class tickets. For Main Class tickets the change fee is 10.000 ISK or 12.000 Saga Points

You can transfer Saga Points to other Saga Club accounts as well as buy Saga Points through your Saga Club account, either for yourself or to give to someone as a gift.
Transfer Saga Points to friends and family
You can share your points with family and friends. Members can transfer Saga Points to other Saga Club members.
Buy Saga Points to give or for yourself
Looking for the perfect gift for a friend or a family member? Purchase up to 150,000 Saga Points per member, per calendar year. A maximum of 100,000 Saga Points can be bought in one transaction.
Some things to keep in mind:
- A processing fee is added to all transactions
- There's no limitation on the number of transactions
- Please allow 72 hours for the Saga Points to land in the recipient's account
Unfortunately, Saga Club members will not be able to use their Saga Points for gift certificates with US retailers or to transfer Points to/from other awards programs through Points.com from September 6th, 2022.
